PLASTELEN®-Tape LT

Petrolatum tape for reliable corrosion protection at low operating temperatures, especially on wet surfaces.

  • Suitable for design temperatures of -50°C (-58°F) bis +50°C (+122°F).
  • Flexible and adaptable even at low temperatures.
  • Free of solvent and odour.
  • Rust removal with a wire brush is adequate.
  • In combination with PLASTELEN®-AQ Primer, ideal for wet surfaces.
PLASTELEN®-Tape LT consists of a robust polypropylene non-woven carrier and a petrolatum-based corrosion prevention mastic, which is easy to shape and work even at low temperatures, and ensures optimal surface wetting at the same time. Stabilisation using polymer additives allows it to achieve design temperatures from -50°C (-58°F) to +50°C (+122°F). The outstanding price/quality ratio of PLASTELEN®-Tape LT also sets it apart.

PLASTELEN®-Tape LT : Industries and solutions

PLASTELEN®-Tape LT is perfect for field joint coatings and in the construction of power stations and related infrastructure. It is ideally suited to covering welding seams and metal structural components, including those featuring complex geometrics or uneven surfaces. The development of PLASTELEN®-Tape LT draws on almost 100 years of experience, particularly with petrolatum tapes invented. Used in conjunction with PLASTELEN®-AQ Primer, PLASTELEN®-Tape LT makes it easy to seal wet surfaces and achieve high mechanical resistance thanks to its tight encasement with the mechanical protective tape.
